MERC is pleased to announce the 11th round of research awards and invites proposals from qualified
researchers. Deadline for receiving proposals in their final format is 15 November 2011. While open to all
research ideas and topics, the program encourages proposals that apply rigorous social science methodologies
and theories particularly in the following areas:

Associate professor in Distance Teaching and Training

Main Objectives

Teach distance education & training modules, supervise master’s theses, lead workshops on distance education & training, conduct research about distance education issues.

Qualifications & Experience

Candidates must be Ph. D. holders who, on the whole, have an educational background with good experience of IT, and verifiable command of academic research methodology. Priority in employment will be based on experience in the following areas:

Process of instructional design and development in distance education and training contexts, especially Web-based instructional design and delivery.

Use of software applications in the design, development, and delivery of e-learning materials.

Tutoring and student support systems for different contexts of distance education and training.

Organization, management and administration of distance education and training systems.
